1. Introduction
These terms govern your use of the BuilderMatch.ai platform. By using our service, you agree to be bound by these terms. BuilderMatch acts as an intermediary connecting homeowners with tradespeople — we are not a party to any contract between you and a tradesperson.
2. For homeowners
- Posting a job on BuilderMatch is free of charge
- You will receive quotes from matched, verified tradespeople
- Payments made through our escrow system are held securely until the job is completed
- You are responsible for agreeing the scope of work directly with the tradesperson
- Our satisfaction guarantee covers workmanship for 30 days after job completion
3. For tradespeople
- Lead unlock fees are non-refundable once customer contact details have been revealed
- A 7% platform commission applies to jobs booked and paid through BuilderMatch
- You must maintain valid insurance and qualifications as stated on your profile
- Payouts are processed via Stripe Connect to your linked bank account
- Response time and completion rate affect your ranking in search results
4. Payments & escrow
Customer payments are held in escrow by BuilderMatch via Stripe. Funds are released to the tradesperson upon job completion confirmation. The platform retains a 7% commission. Disputes should be raised within 7 days of job completion.
5. Reviews & ratings
All reviews must be genuine and relate to work completed through BuilderMatch. We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate our guidelines. Tradespeople may respond publicly to reviews.
6. Liability
BuilderMatch verifies tradespeople's identity, insurance, and qualifications but does not guarantee the quality of work performed. Our liability is limited to the platform fees paid. We are not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential losses arising from work carried out by tradespeople.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
